God is waiting for you to find Him

Then you will call, and the Lord will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I.
(Isaiah 58:9a)

Once when I was younger, it was the middle of the night and I woke up from having a nightmare. Scared, I went into my parent's room. It was pitch black, so I stumbled to where I thought my parent's bed was. I had gone too far and found myself completely lost, stuck between a wardrobe and a chest of drawers with a wall in my face. I was completely disoriented. I must have been making a bit of noise 'cause I heard Mum say, "What's the matter Fiona?" "I'm stuck!" I cried. "It's okay, I'm over here," she said, turning on the light.

Sometimes when you can't seem to find God and you feel lost you need to call out to Him, and He will be there to guide you.

If you call out to God, He will answer you and light your way.

In Isaiah's time, a country called Assyria was against Israel. Assyria crushed northern Israel and Isaiah told the people that Judah(southern Israel) would be conquered too, but he gave the people hope. He said that they would survive, and that one day God would send a saviour to take away their sins and to make God's kingdom on earth. Now we know that this was Jesus that Isaiah was talking about.

Earlier this year, I was feeling not so close to God, I just felt like I couldn't connect. I didn't like this and I wanted to feel closer to God, but I just wasn't. And then I realized I needed to call out to God, not just pray and talk to Him, but really call out to Him. I hadn't been spending as much quality alone time with God, but as I spent more time with Him, I felt closer to Him, ready to deepen my relationship further.

Have you ever felt distant from God, or are you feeling that now? Well, maybe you should take a look at the situation. Are you really calling out to God? God longs to be close to us, if you call out to Him, then He will answer you and help you find your way.

If this is you, then go and spend some quality time with God, just calling out to Him. This might be in prayer, song, words, in a journal, talking out loud or whatever you feel works for you. And have a chat to your D-team leader or any leader at Fuel, they will be happy to guide you and help you through it.
